Striking Scandinavian Modern high-back lounge chair dating to the 1960s, featuring its original deep red period upholstery and beautifully sculpted light-toned hardwood frame.

The chair has an especially distinctive silhouette: a tall upholstered back terminating in small outward-projecting wings, a matching rectangular headrest secured over the top of the chair, and unusual sculptural wooden armrests that broaden into gently shaped handrests.

The slender tapered legs and open-sided construction give the chair a light, architectural appearance typical of Scandinavian furniture of the period. The fully upholstered rear allows the chair to be displayed away from a wall and appreciated from all angles.

The original red upholstery has been preserved and shows appropriate signs of age and use, adding to the authenticity and character of the piece.
